TEMEX Research and Development Centre awarded in two competitions

04/29/2019

The aim of these architectural competitions is to raise awareness of interesting and successful buildings not only in Ostrava itself, but also in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Ostrava Building of the Year

For many years, the city of Ostrava has sponsored a competition called “Ostrava Building of the Year” for investors and buildings that have been completed and certified in the city. The awarding of the title “Ostrava Building of the Year 2018” was decided by an expert jury with the winner traditionally receiving a bronze plaque and financial prize. The aim is to reward successful architectural designs and promote awareness of the quality of the architecture in our city. Voting was opened up to the public on 4 April. The jury narrowed the selection down to 4 buildings. Our RDC building was among them and received “Honorable Mention”.

Daniel Balogh accepted the award on behalf of the management and company at Ostrava City Hall on 13 June 2019.

Construction Project of the Moravian-Silesian Region

Another construction and architectural competition with a broader scope is the “Construction Project of the Moravian-Silesian Region”, which evaluates projects from the entire region. Our RDC also received “Honorable Mention” here, in the category Industrial Buildings.

The same day as the announcement of the Building of the Year at Ostrava City Hall also saw the ceremonial announcement of the 13th annual Construction Project of the Moravian-Silesian Region 2018. The gala evening took place on the industrial premises of the Landek Park Compressor Complex with the attendance of important personalities and guests. In addition to the six basic categories, special prizes were awarded, with CEO Roman Vybíral accepting an award for TEMEX.
