BASIC CHARACTERISTICS

The laboratory is created as a versatile environment for the acquisition of knowledge and skills by university students at the bachelor and master level of university studies focused on applied informatics in the top field of industrial automation.

The laboratory consists of two interconnected parts:
1. Complex robotic process line
2. A small robotic workstation

Complex robotized process line – it consists of a universal robotic system connecting different types of industrial robots and their control systems by a multilevel conveyor system and its PLC control systems with full capability of measuring all important variables. This interconnection enables a fully open solution for creating and using custom motion control algorithms for all parts of the system.

 

DESCRIPTION

The teaching modular laboratory workstation includes:

1. different types of industrial robots with standard kinematic structure (SCARA, anthromorphic robotic arm, collaborative robot with two manipulators and wrists) and with control systems hardware and software extended to allow their interfacing with PLC control system and with higher-level PC-based control systems, which must allow:

  • measurement of all variables relevant to the kinematic and dynamic problems of the system,
  • the preparation and use of custom programs to create custom tasks.

 

2. linking the material movement system enabling experiments with the type models of material flow between the different parts of the teaching site to be provided:

  • stationary conveyor system controlled by PLC and supervisory control units of one HW platform with support for programming in higher programming languages (C, C++),
  • a wheeled service robot with the possibility of autonomous movement in a defined environment and the possibility of transporting material up to 5 kg load.
